Why So Serious?!

Hello adorable fashion lovers. It's another episode on How to become an Ideal Style Icon.
I'm going to talk about something interesting and important today and I'll set the caption;

Colours!

Monochroming can get really boring and serious sometimes. It's always fun to spice up the season with a splash of colour. Colours are attractive when matched appropriately and greatfully,a whole lot of colours go together like green and red, orange and purple, blue and green, yellow and teal, and so on.

Colour Blocking!

The colour blocking trend is a very popular trend which in most cases is done wrongly. Nevertheless, it is a very sassy trend that won't be fading anytime soon. It pays off to start  from the bottom with your shoes,a bright colored pair of shoes does add flavour to a mini or midi neutral gown, just to keep it simple or for beginners. Then you can go over the top by embracing and having fun with the colours when choosing your blouses, tops, skirts or bottoms.

Colour blocking can be seen on the runway;

And on the Red carpet;

And on the streets;

Now let's talk about my favourite colours of the season; Orange and Pink. Oh yes, they seem contrasting but my dear, they create a perfect blend. A pink mini skirt with an orange/tangerine blouse with a plunging neckline can perform the magic on you.To keep the colours off your face, try on a pink mini skirt with a silky black top or a shift dress with a black detail at the neck, chest and sleeve area.

My favourite colours rocking the red carpet;

Oh my! did these ladies do justice to this sassy trend ;)

These colours look great together too;

It's that Simple!

I guess we all studied the colour-wheel somewhere along the line in school, well, it is important to know our colours well. Complementary colours are pairs of colours which when combined in the right proportions produce a neutral colour like grey, white and black. When placed next to each other they reinforce each other and create the strongest contrast. These colours are great for colour blocking and include; yellow - violet, red - green and blue - orange.

Now this lady is having fun with colours.
She kept it balanced by using the conventional bag and shoe matching method which is really cool, then she went out of her way by pairing the boho top and the mini skirt, lovely colour match. The black blazer and panty hose harmonizes all. Simple accessories, sunshades and she's as gorgeous already.

Help!

Here's a little something to keep you on track each time you want to try out colours and you get a wee bit confused.

And for the guys, this should do :)
