I love shopping.........

Shopping is fun; Shopping gets me excited; Shopping makes me happy - Exact words of a shopaholic.
I love that dress but it's damn pricey! Can I afford a Dior lipstick? it's really dear; This hair extension looks so good, I so wish I could get one right now! - Same thoughts of a shopaholic.
I pass by boutiques and the mannequins wave at me - A shopaholic in his or her lost world.

Now you don't have to fret or get all jumpy, I'm also a shopaholic, an endangered specie as a matter of fact. I buy, and I buy and I owe, and I owe. It's not really healthy coz it's not a balanced way to live. Taking a deep look into this shopaholic trait, I've been able to come up with very applicable ways to strike the balance, reduce the debts you are bound to owe and keep the shopping excitement.

First, you gotta learn to shop seasonally. Now this depends on your location on the globe. There are generally four seasons in a year so therefore you shouldn't shop basically more than four times in a year. Also, there are fashion seasons which are the lasting periods of fashion trends. For those that like to get involved with every piece in vogue, still maintain your shopping pattern.

A clean shopping budget results to an exciting and healthy shopping. This is where window shopping comes into play. Before your next shopping date, try as much as possible to find out the different prices of the items you need so you would avoid becoming a  Rebecca Bloomwood. Write down your shopping needs first, then other items you would want to have, compare prices and be honest to yourself. Know how much you can afford to spend for that shopping spree.

Shopping online really helps, that way you aren't tempted to do some impulsive buying and there are great pieces for your budget. You don't only get a variety of what you want, you shop from the comfort of your own home. You save yourself the transport fare to these shops, you get your size and good quality items.

When you shop, shop for capsule pieces(ie. pieces that go together) all at once, pick the items your wardrobe lacks first then get a variety of accessories. So it's important to make a proper survey to know what you really lack or what you gotta change in your closet. Also remember to include a list of basic must-haves so you don't have to go back to the stores and shop for what wasn't planned for.

It's also cool to shop for occasions or events. In this case, find out from your stylist(if you have one) the best attire for the event. Determine to get what you want, include accessories that should go with the attire. In cases of extra cash at hand, you can decide to get a substitute clothing item to suit last-minute-change-of-mind.

Finally, it doesn't hurt to skip your next shopping spree when you're low with cash. Now you can pick one or two things if they're really necessary. But you know, a stylish individual includes his shopping to his general monthly budget and that percentage can be saved till your next shopping date.

So it doesn't seem so easy at first but trust me it works. Keeps you looking your best in and out of season and keeps the shopping excitement top-notch as you look forward to your next shopping date. Remember the necessary points:
  • Have your shopping pattern by shopping seasonally.
  • Get your budget ready before your next shopping date.
  • Try shopping online.
  • Shop completely.
  • Extra shopping should be for events.
Shop well, live well! Goodluck sweethearts! ;)
